1 pound hamburger
2 tablespoons chopped onion
2 tablespoons chopped green pepper
1/4 cup cornmeal
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons dry mustard
3 potatoes, quartered
12-18 small onions, or one large onion sliced
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 cup milk
1 egg slightly beaten
1/4 cup flour
2 tablespoons margarine
2 cups tomato juice
6 carrots, halved
Salt to taste

Combine meat, onions, green pepper, cornmeal, seasonings, milk and egg. Mix thoroughly and form 12 balls.

Roll mixture in flour, and brown in hot fat.

Place in 4 quart casserole.

To fat in skillet, add remaining flour, blend and add tomato juice, plus one cup water.

Cook until thick and pour over meatballs.

Arrange vegetables and potatoes around meatballs, add salt.

Cover tightly and bake at 350 degrees for one hour or more.
